Langtang Region
Definitely Langtang Region one of the exhilarating options for trekking. It is one of the nearest trekking region from Kathmandu. Actually, trekking to Langtang will offer an opportunity to look at mountain ranges -Annapurna lying to the west and Makalu in the east standing at the top of the Shiva Puri. Also the region bestows wonderful Himalayan panorama, beautiful lush valleys, Tamang culture, Tibetan monasteries, sacred and popular Gosainkunda Lake, antique Tibetan settlements, different species of faunas and floras.
Langtang trekking begins from Kathmandu, Sundarijal which leads you through a Shiva pilgrim trail for 150 km, and follow a high edging path until it traverses the Laurebina Pass. Beneath the pass we will spot the Gosainkunda Lake lying at the height of 4300m. After that, the path takes us downward to Syabru, an attractive village on the peak of the edge. We will then enter into the Langtang valley. We will observe Naya Kanga Ri (5846m) and Gang Chhenpo (6388m) lying to the south; Dorje Lakpa(6966m) to the east of the valley and Langtang Lirung (7246m) takes over all attention falling to the north.
Moreover, another most appealing part of Langtang trek is Langtang National Park which includes 32 mammals like yak, red panda, pika, wild dog, muntjac, Himalayan black bear, musk deer, serow, ghoral, rhesus monkey, common langur, Himalayan tahr and more. Similarly, there are 352 different types of birds such as impeyan pheasants, tragopan etc. Also, the park includes about 3000 varieties of flowering plants including fir, oaks, sal tree, hemlock, Nepalese alder, larch, blue pine, chirpine, spruce and a variety of rhododendron flowers.
