Day 01: Reach at Kathmandu via airlines and transfer to respective hotels.
On reaching at Kathmandu international airport where you will be greeted with warm welcome by High Five Adventure staff and guides, and then transfer to your hotel where you will be joined with other members of Dudhkunda Trekking, here our guide will brief with wide information regarding Dudhkunda Trekking.
Day 02: In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Dudhkunda trekking.
A free day in Kathmandu for necessary preparations where you will be busy packing and purchasing necessary required equipments for the adventure trek to Dudhkunda trek, on last final day in Kathmandu with final briefing regarding the trek including do’s and don’ts, where our expert guide will provide much information required for the trek.
For interested people can join in city tour around Kathmandu at places of interest, as Kathmandu valley full of world heritage sites of impressive historical and cultural monuments.
Day 03: Drive to Jiri 1,955m - 06 hrs journeys.
Dudhkunda trekking begins with long drive on Kathmandu-Lhasa highway, where this interesting drive leads on foothills of Himalaya, through villages and towns on reaching at Charikot, drive continues downhill to cross Tama Kosi River and then on winding uphill to reach a hill top above Jiri town, and then ride descend to reach at nice Jiri town, famously known as Switzerland of Nepal with views of rolling green hills with views of snowcapped peaks.
Day 04: Trek to Shivalaya 1,770 m -05 hrs.
After our first overnight in Jiri, our first day walk begins through the town market place and then avoiding the motor road, climbing a hill to reach a high ridge with nice scenery of surrounding landscapes and mountains.
From the ridge top a long downhill walk takes you at Shivalaya village for overnight stop, a nice fair size village with number of lodges for travelers located by the bank of a river.
Day 05: Trek to Bhandar (Chyangma) 2,195 m - 05 hrs
From Shivalaya morning leads to a steep climb to a ridge pat farm villages and terrace fields and then into a cool shade of alpine forest of rhododendron-oaks-pines trees to reach a small pass of Deurali at 2, 715 meters, here with lunch stop a long descend for two hours to Bhandar village for overnight stop, after walking past large Stupa and villages.
Bhandar also called as Chyangma village, the area around of mix tribe of people with Tamang, Newar, but predominantly Sherpa people.
Day 06: Trek to Sete 2,575 m - 06 hrs.
Morning starts with downhill through farm areas passing farm villages to reach at Kenja village a nice moderate size village, situated in a warm valley just beneath the high hills of Lamjura and Pikey danda, offering views of Numbur peaks. After Kenja, a steep uphill climb all the way to overnight stop at Sete village from here onwards the temperature gets cooler.
Day 07: Trek to Junbesi 2,675m via Lamjura-la 3,530 m -06 hrs.
Starting with cool morning walk towards Lamjuta-la pass with steep climb into forest of rhododendron, pines and oaks trees then through many small farm lands and hamlets, after few hours of climb reaching on top of Lamjura pass marked by a big stupa with few lodges, from the top descend leads through forest all the way to Sherpa village at Toctoc.
After a short stop continue walk on winding path to Junbesi, and then downhill to Junbesi, a lovely large Sherpa village with an interesting monastery and a high school funded by Hillary Trust.
Day 08: Rest day at Junbesi for acclimatization and short hike.
Junbesi, a nice large Sherpa village with a high school founded by Hillary Foundation, here explore the village and interesting monastery and observe the local Sherpa culture with their daily life of Buddhist religion.
Day 09: Trek to Thupten Chuling 2,930m - 04 hours.
From this lovely village Junbesi a short day walk leads uphill to reach at Buddhist nunnery and monastery at Thupten Chuling monastery area, from Junbesi walking on nice maintain trail leading away from the main Jiri to Everest trail, while our route leads on least traveled region where trekkers often visit.
As the walk progresses enjoy the surrounding views of landscapes with distant Numbur peaks, slowly our walk enter a monastery premises at Thupten Chuling.
Afternoon relax and visit the monastery and the nunnery of great interest and importance to Buddhism followers.
Day 10: Trek to Saharsabeni 3,835m -06 hours.
After a pleasant relaxing time at Thupten Chuling Gompa, today will be a long and tough day walk of the journey as the walk leads into complete wilderness away from villages and human settlement with few cattle herder’s huts and shades.
Walk leads past Kumgangdo a small Buddhist school with a meditation cave heading further at Shengeephuk of 3,940 m high and continue on the upper ridges with incredible views of snowcapped peaks and then reaching our campsite at Saharsabeni past Sejung.
Day 11: Trek to Holy Dudhkunda 4,561 m - 06 hours.
Today walk leads to our main highlight of the adventure at holy Dudhkunda a glacial pond where pilgrims and devotees of both faith Hindu and Buddhist visit this pond once a year in auspicious event where religious fair takes place with full of tents and shades for the devotees and pilgrims visiting to take a holy dip in the sacred pond, belief is that washes the sin of a thousand life time.
Walk leads on arid and barren country with ups and few downhill trails and then climbing the last hour to reach our highest point of the trek at 4,561 m high within simmering emerald color Dudhkund pond.
Afternoon relax and enjoy the surrounding awesome views of mountains and beautiful landscapes.
Day 12: Rest day for local exploration and hike.
Great fair of religious event takes place here in the month of july / august as per Hindu or Buddhist Lunar calendar as the festival happens in full moon day, where hundreds of pilgrims from Solu and Khumbu district and as other part of Nepal visits this place on auspicious time.
At Dudhkund relax or take a side excursion on nearby hills for better views of surrounding peaks, where you can catch glimpse of Everest and massive face of Numbur peak as well.

Day 13: Trek to Sarkari pati 2,860 m -06 hours.
Morning walk leads back on the same trail for few hours and then heading downhill on a ridge crest following the trail towards Sarkari pati with views along the walks and eventually reaching our overnight camp at Sarkari pati on a nice grazing field.
Day 14: Trek to Phaplu 2,470 m via Takshindo and Ringmo -06 hours.
Today our last day of trekking heading back to human civilization into villages and farm areas of Solu area, walk is pleasant on gradual winding trail with more downhill entering back into tree lines of rhododendron-pines and fir trees reaching at the main trail of Jiri to Everest route at Takshindo hill top.
After a short refreshing rest, walk continues on downhill path past Ringmo village to reach at Phaplu where we will take flight back to Kathmandu next early morning, at Phaplu overnight in nice cozy Sherpa lodge with time for short walk around the village.
Day 15: Fly to Kathmandu from Phaplu 30 minutes of scenic flight.
Getting up early to catch the early flight back to Kathmandu from Phaplu (sometime the flight time can get delayed due to bad weather), as the plane reaches Phaplu small airstrip depart for Kathmandu taking a sweeping scenic flight in a small twin otter or Dornier plane.
On arrival in Katmandu domestic airport a short drive leads you back in the hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu, transfer back to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu in and around Thamel area.
Day 16: In Kathmandu for individual activities.
A spare and free day in case of flight delay at Phaplu due to bad weather conditions, on this free day you can join in our guided tour of interest with culture and heritage sites as Kathmandu valley is full of world heritage sites, however some of them been damaged from recent earthquakes.
Day 17: International departure for home ward bound.
Dudhkund Trekking completes today here in amazing Nepal Himalaya, as per the time for your international flight homeward bound or to next respective countries and port of call, transfer to airport with mesmerizing and exciting adventure with High Five Adventure and its cheerful friendly guides and staff.
