Moreover, Everest Base Camp Trekking is a great opportunity to embark in an epic journey that Tenzin Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary set off to in 1953. Though there are many routes available to reach Everest Base Camp, we will follow the easy and beautiful one. The one from Jiri is the regarded as most challenging route that was followed by the first successful ascenders of Mount Everest (Tenzin and Edmund). Since, Lukla Airport is built; most of the trekkers choose this route via Lukla to reach the Base Camp of highest mountain Peak.

Kalapaththar is the highest altitude you will reach during EBC Trek. This is famous viewpoint of Everest which serves you the closer view of Everest than from any other place. This vantage point reaches an altitude of 5,643 meters. Also, the Everest View Hotel is famous view point in the Region that offers awe-inspiring views of Everest Panorama and many other high mountain peaks.

Moreover, we will get an opportunity to explore the Khumbu Glacier and Khumbu Icefall during the trek. Also, the suspension bridges, small streams, steeply uphill trail makes our walks exciting and challenging. If we are lucky enough, we will encounter different wildlife such as Snow leopards in Sagarmatha National Park.

Best Time to go Everest Base Camp Trekking

Most of the people love to trek EBC during the month of March, April and May (spring season), as this will let trekkers to explore mountain vistas more clearly than any other seasons. The first successful climb to Everest was also during this season.

Likewise, autumn season, starting from September and ending with November, is also considered as best season for its pleasant weather and long days. This season also provides clear sky and alluring views.

The monsoon and winter seasons are most challenging season for EBC Trekking. Some of the high passes remain close due to heavy snow fall. However, high determination, hard work, excellent preparation and use of proper gears may make possible to Trek EBC during these seasons, also.

Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport

Activity: Arrival in Nepal

Welcome to Nepal! You will meet our office representative in Tribhuwan International Airport who will promptly meet you and help you get transferred to Hotel. You can relax during leisure time in your Hotel. We will host welcome dinner at evening.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing and Trekking Preparations

Activity: Valley Sightseeing and Trek Preparations

Max. Altitude: 1,400m in Kathmandu

Overnight stay: 3 star rated Hotel

Kathmandu valley is culturally opulent tourist hub of Nepal. It is also known as the city that houses more temples than homes. Despite being highly influenced by modernization, the ancient heritages are well preserved. The valley holds seven world heritages sites as enlisted by UNESCO, among which four falls in Kathmandu city alone.

Situated at the bank of holy river Bagmati, Pashupatinath is a Hindu Temple and Lord Shiva is worshipped here. Though, the main Temple is not permitted to entry by people other than Hindus, non-Hindus can explore and enjoy the alluring views of the surrounding.

Bouddanath and Swoyambhunath are two most famous Buddhist Monasteries in Kathmandu valley. Boudhanath often pronounced as Boudha (Bo-u-da) is the largest stupa of Nepal. Swoyambhunath is popularly known as The Monkey Temple.

If time permits, we will also make a visit to ancient Palaces located in the valley – Kathmandu and Patan Durbar Square.

In the second half of the day, we will discuss about further plans for Trekking to Everest Base Camp.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla Airport and Trek to Phakding, 3 hours trek

Activity: Fly and start trekking

Max. Altitude: 2,652m

In the early morning, we will drive to Tribhuwan International Airport for Domestic flight to Lukla. This short and scenic flight offers you many awe-inspiring glimpses of high snow-clad mountain peaks from the birds’ eye perspective and lasts with thrilling landing.

Though we start our trip from Kathmandu, Actual Trekking starts here in Lukla. This small town is gateway to almost all the trekking in Everest Region. As it is just beginning of our incredible voyage, we will walk for only 3 hours and rest in Phakding. This village is perfect stop for your first night stay and provides you plenty of descent teahouses and lodges with private bathroom and hot showers.

Day 04: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, 6 hours trek

Activity: Trekking

Max. Altitude: 3,440m

Overnight stay: Mountain Lodge or Tea House

After having warm breakfast at Phakding, the trail continues to Namche Bazaar. The trail today consists of many small settlements of brave Sherpa community. During the trek we will traverse through the villages like Zam Phute, Tok-Tok, Benkar, Chumao, Monjo, Jorsalle and finally reach Namche Bazaar.

Namche is the largest town in Khumbu Region and is loaded with immense natural beauties and cultural heritages. The colorful houses, beautiful surrounding and tranquil environment will make your trekking more exciting. If you have missed any trekking gears, you can purchase or hire it here. The village offers delighted views of Thamserku Peak and Kongdi Ri Himal.    

Day 05: Acclimatization – Day hike to Everest View Hotel, approx. 4 hours trek

Activity: Acclimatization and short hike

Max. Altitude: 3,962m

Overnight stay: Mountain Lodge or Tea House

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

We will start a pleasant morning with the mesmerizing views at Namche Bazaar. Today we won’t precede our trek in the route to Everest Base Camp, but explore the village and its surrounding during morning.

For the rest of the day, we will hike up to famous Everest View Hotel which rewards us the best glimpses of Everest and many other high mountain ranges. This is the only hotel located in that high altitude across the globe.

After spending sometime there we will trek back to Namche Bazaar again and spend the rest of time there with interacting with brave sherpas or exploring their lifestyle.

Day 06: Trek from Namche to Tengboche (3,860m), 5 hours trek

Activity: Trekking

Max. Altitude: 3,860m

Overnight stay: Mountain Lodge or Tea House

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

 The trail from Namche to Tengboche is long but easy that traverses through several small and quaint villages of Sherpa people. On the way , you will pass through the lush forests and encounter Himalayan Thar crossing your route if lucky enough.

The prayer flags, mani wall and old small choterns makes your trip exciting. On reaching the charming Tengboche village, the astounding views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and many other high mountains can be seen.

Day 07: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m), 5 hours trek

Activity: Trekking

Max. Altitude: 4,410m

Overnight stay: Mountain Lodge or Tea House

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Starting our trek in the early morning, we will first cross the suspension bridge over Imja Khola. Passing through the alpine vegetation, we will reach another beautiful village Pangboche. Then, marching across the rugged terrain and witnessing awe inspiring mountain panoramas of Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Island peak we will reach Dingboche.

Day 08: Acclimatization – Day hike to Nagarjun Hill, 4-5 hours hike

Activity: Trekking

Max. Altitude: 3,440m

Overnight stay: Mountain Lodge or Tea House

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

As we reach higher altitude, the oxygen concentration gradually decreases and hence the walk will be more challenging. It gets very hard to trek uphill in high altitude without proper acclimatization. Hence, we will spend this day as an acclimatization day in Dingboche.

Acclimatization day doesn’t means we will be resting whole day in Dingboche, we will not stop the walking in order to catch the pace in further trip. On the day time, we will hike up to Nagarjun hill and witness the overwhelming natural beauties.

Then, we will be back again to Dingboche for overnight stay.

Day 09: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910m), 5 hours trek

Activity: Trekking

Max. Altitude: 4,910m

Overnight stay: Mountain Lodge or Tea House

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Most of the trek today will be challenging. We will walk slowly and climb gently to reach Lobuche. Exploring the incredible Khumbu Glacier and beautiful Himalayan ranges like Mount Pumori, Luptse, Khumbutse, Mahalangur Himal and so on. After walking about 5 hours in tough trail we will reach Lobuche situated at an altitude if 4,910 meters.

Day 10: Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,180m) – Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and return Gorakshep, 8 hours

Max. Altitude: 5,364m in Everest Base Camp

Overnight stay: Mountain Lodge or Tea House

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

This is the most anticipated day of our voyage to Everest Base Camp as we will reach the highest base camp today. This will be the toughest day, too. We will reach higher altitude this will surely makes our trekking more tough, also we will walk for approximately 8 hours.

The excitement to reach most awaiting destination and the pleasant views of natural beauties will somehow make us forget all the tiredness of walking. Traversing through alluring route, we will reach Everest Base Camp today. Here, we will be encircled with the incredible panorama of Everest Massif. This heavenly point will offer us so much immense beauties for lifetime.

For overnight stay, we will descend back to Gorakshep.

Day 11: Trek from Gorakshep to Kalapaththar and Trek to Pherinche (4,210m), 7 hours

Activity: Trekking

Max. Altitude: 5,545m in Kalapaththar

Overnight stay: Mountain Lodge or Tea House

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

The hike from Gorakshep to Kalapaththar will start in the early morning so that you will get a chance to witness the tantalizing sunrise view from here. From this vantage point you will look Mount Everest Massif closer than ever. This is the highest altitude we reach during our EBC Trekking.

Day 12: Trek from Pherinche to Namche, 7 hours trek

Activity: Trekking

Max. Altitude: 3,440m

Overnight stay: Mountain Lodge or Tea House

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

The trail back to Namche from Pherinche is comparatively easy trek than before. Following the Imja river to Tengboche is the first part of our walk today and them we will pass Kyanjuma to reach beautiful Namche. During the descend to Namche, you can witness the admiring views of Himalayas that you missed during ascend.

Day 13: Trek from Namche to Lukla (2,800m), 7 hours

Activity: Trekking

Overnight stay: Mountain Lodge or Tea House

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

On the today’s returning trip to Lukla, we will traverse through the beautifully decorated trail with prayer flags, Chortens, mani walls and miniature gompas.

We will rest today in Lukla and prepare for celebrate our successful trip.

Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu

Activity: Trekking

Max. Altitude: 3,440m

Overnight stay: Mountain Lodge or Tea House

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Today, we come to the end of our trip in Khumbu Region. Leaving Lukla, we will fly in early morning to Kathmandu via Domestic flight.

The mesmerizing views of Mountain Panorama and diverse landscapes can be explored from the plane. On landing to Kathmandu, our representative will drop you to respective hotels in a private vehicle.

Day 15: Leisure Day in Kathmandu

Activity: Rest or join shopping

Max. Altitude: 1,400 in Kathmandu

Overnight stay: 3 star rated Hotel

Meals Included: Breakfast and Dinner

This one leisure day is for the compensation if any delay occurs in our trekking due to flight cancellation or delays or any other issues. We have managed this reserve day to stay prepared for any possible disruption in the schedule.

If everything goes okay and you finish your trekking in pre-estimated time, then you can spend this day relaxing or joining some final hour souvenir shopping before returning your homeland.

Day 16: Final Departure

Activity: Fly to your Homeland
