Day 01: Reach at Kathmandu via airlines and transfer to respective hotels.
On reaching at Tribhuwan international airport where you will be greeted with warm welcome by High Five Adventures staff and guides, and then transfer to your hotel where you will be joined with other members of Mt. Lhotse Expedition, here our guide and group leader will information and brief with wide information regarding the trek and Mt. Lhotse Expedition.
Day 02-03: In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Everest expeditions.
With free days in Kathmandu for necessary preparations where you will be busy packing and purchasing necessarily required types of equipment for the expeditions, on last final day in Kathmandu with a final briefing regarding the climb including do’s and don’ts, where our expert climbing guide will provide much information and items required for the climb.
For interested people can join in city tour around Kathmandu at places of interest, as Kathmandu valley full of world heritage sites of impressive historical and cultural monuments.
Day 04: Fly to Lukla 2,886m & trek to Phakding 2,640m - 04 hrs.
After preparation and rest in Kathmandu, morning depart for the flight to Lukla where you can view an array of peaks including Mt. Lhotse and Everest on 30 minutes flight to Lukla, on arrival at Lukla airport which is named Tenzing–Hillary Airport tribute to great legendary climbers.
From Lukla after getting organized and meeting other staff and porters of the expeditions a pleasant walk leads you to an overnight stop in Phakding located by the Dudh Kosi River.
Day 05: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 06 hrs.
Our second day walk leads to cross Dudh Koshi, after crossing bridges then reaching at the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park near Monjo village, where all permits are checked from here an easy walk on the river valley for an hour then after crossing the last high bridge a winding uphill trail of few hours reaches you at Namche Bazaar, here with two overnights in this big and prosperous trading village with various facilities ATMs, Cybercafes, stores, shops, restaurants, banks and fresh bakery where busy colourful market takes place every Saturday.
Day 06: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization.
Necessary rest day at Namche for acclimatization, on this relax or take a short walk up to the park museum and viewpoint for grand views of Everest –Lhotse and Amadablam with adjoining peaks the park museum offers a great range of information from mountaineering, flora – fauna and Sherpa culture and religions, other hiking spots climb to Everest View Hotel for grand views of Everest and surrounding mountains.
Day 07: Trek to Tengboche 3,867 m - 05hrs.
After a pleasant time at Namche, morning leads to moderate walk on winding trail in the shade of pines and rhododendron tree lines with super views of Amadablam, Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Thamserku and Kwangde peak, and then walk leads downhill to Imjatse river at Phung Tenga for a possible lunch stop. Afternoon leads to a climb for few hours into a serene forest to Thyangboche Monastery, a great scenic place on a small plateau with beautiful views of Amadablam, Kangtenga, Thamserku, Kwangde and Mt. Everest, Tengboche a holy spot where the head lama (Rinpoche) of the monastery resides here.
Mountaineers get blessed from the high lama or main priest for a safe and successful climb.
Day 08: Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m - 05 hrs.
Morning continues with a downhill walk into a lovely forest of birch-rhododendron and pines trees, and then our nice pleasant walk to a slow climb to Pangboche village and the last permanent village before Everest and Lhotse Base Camps.
After Pangboche tree lines drop for short rhododendron and juniper bushes, as the meanders to the exposed area with superb views of Mt. Amadablam after crossing the last bridge with short climb reaching at beautiful Imjatse valley and in Dingboche for an overnight stop.
Dingboche offers fabulous views of Amadablam North Face, Island / Imjatse Peak, Nuptse and Lhotse mountains, a little higher climb on the ridge offers views of world’s 5th highest
Mt. Makalu beyond Amphu Labtsa peak.
Day 09: At Dingboche rest day for acclimatization and local hike.
Another necessary acclimatization day where you can relax and enjoy the views or take a short hike to Nagarjung hilltop and Chukung for a scenic panorama of surrounding mountains with Island peak.
Day 10: Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m - 05 hrs.
Leaving Dingboche, with short climb to a ridge of prayer monuments and then on gradual trail with slow climb to reach at Thugla ( Dugla) where trail from Pheriche valley and Dingboche joins on route Everest Base Camp, offering stunning views of Taboche, Cholatse, Lobuche, Pumori, Amadablam, after a rest climb up to the terminal debris of Khumbu Glacier and continue walk to Lobuche for overnight stop.
Day 11: Trek to Gorakshep 5,170 m and Everest-Lhotse Base Camp 5, 364 m - 06 hrs.
The walk today will be strenuous due to altitude gain with views of Mt. Pumori, Lingtrin, Khumbutse, Lhotse and Mt. Everest. After hours of good scenic walk reaching at Gorakshep with a couple of nice lodges which is few hours before Everest Base Camp.
After a short refreshing break, an optional hike uphill to Kalapathar at 5,545 m high, for fabulous and close views of Mt. Everest with surrounding giant peaks. After a spectacular panorama downhill to Gorakshep and continue to walk to Everest and Lhotse Base Camps as the trail leads on ice and moraine as the walk ends to our main destination at Base Camp.
Day 12-13: At base camp acclimatization and preparations.
Today gather all climbing gears from our porters and Yaks, getting busy sorting out the equipment and planning with few practices before the final climb to the summit of Mt. Lhotse.
Day 14-33: (20 days) Ascent of Mount Lhotse and withdrawal to Base Camp.
Presuming that Khumbu Ice-fall will be fixed by the time team reaches the Base Camp. Members can start load-carrying it to Camp I and Camp II, in the Western Cwm.
Once everyone is well acclimatized, Camp I will be mostly by-passed en-route for Camp II, which will become an Advance Base Camp. The route to this point will involve crossing the crevasses on ladders, jumaring up serac walls and a long tedious plod-up the Western Cwm. Camp III will be placed halfway up the Lhotse Face at about 7,400 meters high. From here a long rising traverse across the snow slopes, a yellow band of rock and the Geneva Spur, leads to the South Col and Camp IV. This will be fully established before a rest period at Base Camp.
Day 34 - 35: All team members are to re-group at the Base Camp.
To assist with packing-up the expedition and clearing the Base Camp areas.
Day 36: All team-members to reach at Base Camp for final re-grouping.
This day all climbing party and a member including guide and staff should have reached at base camp on this day, to assist packing equipment and checking each member health condition after the great classic climb.
Day 37: Cleaning up the base camp and packing for the return journey.
Start packing the climbing gears and disposing of garbage in proper sites, where SPPC (Sagarmatha Pollution Control) will check the camp and depositing the litter to take away from the base camp to disposal sites or back to Kathmandu.
Day 38: Trek to Pheriche 4,240m - 05 hrs.
The morning after a successful climb on top of world’s 4th highest Mt. Lhotse, return journey to Gorakshep and then walk to Thugla, from here downhill to Pheriche on a windy valley after a nice pleasant walk reaching at Pheriche for an overnight stop.
Day 39: Trek to Tengboche 3,867 m - 05 hrs.
Leaving Pheriche with super views of Amadablam, Nuptse wall, Lhotse, then heading on the downhill path and back to lower altitude and tree lines, the walk leads past Pangboche and from the bridge an hour or more climb brings you back at famed Tengboche Monastery with the amazing surrounding scenery.
Day 40: Trek to Monjo 2,880 m through Namche Bazaar - 06hrs.
Morning walk begins with a descend to Imjatse River at Phunge tenga, here after crossing the bridge a steep uphill for an hour than with gentle winding walk all the way to Namche Bazaar, ( for energetic people can use the route to Namche visiting Everest View Hotel or Khumjung and Khunde village) from Namche on the downhill path to Dudh Kosi Riverbank, from here with short ups and downs to reach the Sagarmatha National Park entrance and then Monjo village for overnight stop in this quaint nice village.
Day 41: Trek to Lukla - 05 hrs.
After a most exciting and thrilling adventure on Mt. Lhotse climb, our last day walk takes you back to Lukla on a gentle winding trail through Phakding and Ghat village and then with last climb to Lukla for lunch and overnight stop, an evening with the last dinner around Khumbu area with staff and guides including porters.
Day 42: Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Getting up early to catch the early flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla, (sometimes the flight time can get delayed due to bad weather), as the plane reaches Lukla airstrip depart for Kathmandu taking a sweeping scenic flight in a small twin otter or Dornier plane.
On arrival in Katmandu domestic airport, a short drive leads you back in the hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu, transfer back to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu in and around Thamel area.
Day 43-44: In Kathmandu for individual activities.
Two days as a spare and free day in case of flight delay at Lukla in due to bad weather conditions, on this day busy sorting out climbing equipment, where our leader and guide will submit the expeditions report to concern Nepal Government department.
On this free day, you can join in our guided tour of interest with culture and heritage sites as Kathmandu valley is full of world heritage sites, however, some of them been damaged from recent earthquakes.
Day 45: International departure for homeward bound.
Mt. Lhotse Expeditions completes today here in amazing Nepal Himalaya, as per the time for your international flight homeward bound or to next respective countries and port of call, transfer to the airport with mesmerizing and exciting adventure with High Five Adventures and its cheerful friendly guides and staff.
