Introduction:

Lobuche Peak climbing is one of the toughest mountains which requires high technical skills for climbers before joining major expeditions, however, the summit of Lobuche can be reached safely taking enough safety measures and time with the good and expert support of High Five Adventures veteran and professional climbing guides.

Lobuche peak main summit stands at 6,189 m / 20,305 ft high, the climb is technical all the way to its summit, for the climb where our guide will fix ropes for your safety in high technical sections, for successful climb we have set the itinerary days much flexible with acclimatization days to make this adventure an enjoyable with visit of Everest base camp and climb of high and scenic Kalapathar top which will make acclimatization more better.

Lobuche peak climb grades TD (Technical Difficile ) as per French and Swiss Alpine Climbing System which leads you to moraine and glaciers with ice and rock climbing in some sections of the climb to its summit top.

Lobuche Peak Climbing a combination of wonderful adventure as the walk leads you to lovely Sherpa farm villages of immense Buddhist religion and culture, visiting the impressive monastery at Thyangboche around beautiful forest setting and views of Everest and majestic Amadablam.

Walk further leads at Everest Base camp with views of world highest peaks including massive Khumbu Ice-Falls and glacier and then towards our main destination for the tough climb on top of Lobuche peak, after a great climb heading back to Lukla, for the flight to Kathmandu where our mind-blowing and overwhelming experience of a lifetime adventure on Lobuche Peak Climbing completes.

Brief Itinerary:

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu via respective airlines and transfer to your hotels.
Day 02: In Kathmandu preparation for Lobuje Peak climb with the optional tour.
Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla 2,820 m trek to Phakding 2,640 m – 04 hrs.
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 05 hrs.
Day 05: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.
Day 06: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m – 05hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m – 05hrs.
Day 08: At Dingboche rest day for acclimatization and local hike.
Day 09: Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m – 05 hrs.
Day 10: Trek to Gorakshep 5,170 m and walk to Everest Base Camp 5,364 m – 06 hrs.
Day 11: Morning hike to Kalapathar and trek to Lobuje base camp 4,865 m – 05 hrs.
Day 12: Trek and climb to Lobuche High Camp 5,600 m – 04 hrs.
Day 13: Climb Lobuche Peak 6,119 m / 20,070 ft and to base camp – 08 hrs.
Day 14: Reserve or contingency day in case of unfavourable bad weather.
Day 15: Trek to Pangboche 3,900 – 05 hrs.
Day 16: Trek to Namche Bazaar – 07 hrs.
Day 17: Trek to Lukla – 06 hrs.
Day 18: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.
Day 19: In Kathmandu free day with an optional sightseeing tour.
Day 20: International departure for homeward bound.

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Reach at Kathmandu via airlines and transfer to respective hotels.
On reaching at Kathmandu international airport where you will be greeted with warm welcome by High Five Adventure staff and guides, and then transfer to your hotel where you will be joined with other members of Lobuje Peak climbing, here our guide and group leader will information and brief with wide information regarding Lobuje Peak trek and climb.

Day 02: In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Island Peak climb.

A free day in Kathmandu for necessary preparations where you will be busy packing and purchasing necessary required equipments for the climb of Lobuje peak, on last final day in Kathmandu with final briefing regarding the climb including do’s and don’ts, where our expert climbing guide will provide much information and items required for the trek and climb.

For interested people can join in city tour around Kathmandu at places of interest, as Kathmandu valley full of world heritage sites of impressive historical and cultural monuments.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,886m & trek to Phakding 2,640m - 04 hrs.
After preparation and rest in Kathmandu, morning depart for the flight to Lukla where you can view array of peaks including Mt. Everest on 30 minutes flight to Lukla, on arrival at Lukla airport which is named Tenzing–Hillary Airport tribute to great legendary climbers.

From Lukla after getting organized and meeting other staff and porters of the expeditions a pleasant walk leads you to overnight stop in Phakding located by the Dudh Kosi River.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 06 hrs.

Our second day walk leads to cross Dudh Koshi, after crossing bridges then reaching at the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park near Monjo village, where all permits are checked from here an easy walk on the river valley for an hour then after crossing the last high bridge a winding uphill trail of few hours reaches you at Namche Bazaar, here with two overnights in this big and prosperous trading village with various facilities ATMs, Cyber cafes, stores, shops, restaurants, banks and fresh bakery where busy colorful market takes place every Saturday.

Day 05: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization.

Necessary rest day at Namche for acclimatization, on this relax or take a short walk up to the park museum and view point for grand views of Everest –Amadablam and adjoining peaks the park museum offers great range of information from mountaineering, flora – fauna and Sherpa culture and religions, other hiking spots climb to Everest View Hotel for grand views of Everest and surrounding mountains.

Day 06: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 05hrs.
After a pleasant time at Namche, morning leads to moderate walk on winding trail in the shade of pines and rhododendron tree lines with super views of Amadablam, Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Thamserku and Kwangde peak, and then walk leads downhill to Imjatse river at Phunge Tenga for possible lunch stop.

Afternoon leads to a climb for few hours into a serene forest to Thyangboche Monastery, a great scenic place on a small plateau with beautiful views of Amadablam, Kangtenga, Thamserku, Kwangde and Mt. Everest, Thyangboche a holy spot where the head lama (Rinpoche) of the monastery resides here.

Mountaineers and climbers get blessed from a high lama or main priest for safe and successful climb.

Day 07: Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m - 05 hrs.
Morning continues with downhill walk into a lovely forest of birch-rhododendron and pines trees, and then our nice pleasant walk to a slow climb to Pangboche village and the last permanent village before Everest Base Camp.

After Pangboche tree lines drops for short rhododendron and juniper bushes, as the meanders to exposed area with superb views of Mt. Amadablam after crossing a last bridge with short climb reaching at beautiful Imjatse valley and in Dingboche for overnight stop.

Dingboche offers fabulous views of Amadablam North Face, Island / Imjatse Peak, Nuptse and Lhotse mountains, a little higher climb on the ridge offers views of world’s 5th highest
Mt. Makalu beyond Amphu Labtsa peak. 

Day 08: At Dingboche rest day for acclimatization and local hike.
Another necessary acclimatization day where you can relax and enjoy the views or take a short hike to Nagarjung hill top and Chukung for scenic panorama of surrounding mountains with Island peak.

Day 09: Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m - 05 hrs.

Leaving Pheriche, walking on nice lovely valley for an hour and then climb to a ridge to reach at Thugla ( Dugla)  where trail from Pheriche and Dingboche joins on route to Everest Base Camp, offering stunning views of Taboche, Cholatse, Lobuche, Pumori, Amadablam, after a rest climb up to the terminal debris of Khumbu Glacier and continue walk to Lobuche for overnight stop.

Day 10: Trek to Gorakshep 5,170 m and Everest Base Camp 5, 364 m - 06 hrs.

The walk today will be strenuous due to altitude gain with views of Mt. Pumori, Lingtrin, Khumbutse and Mt. Everest. After hours of good scenic walk reaching at Gorakshep with couple of nice lodges which is few hours before Everest Base Camp.

After a short refreshing break, continue walk to Everest Base Camp as the trail leads on ice and moraine as the walk ends to our destination at Everest Base Camp, here enjoy the views of massive Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers and return back to Gorakshep for overnight stop.

Day 11: Hike to Kalapathar 5,545 m trek to Lobuje Peak base camp 4,730m - 05 hrs.
Morning climb on top of Kalapathar at 5,545 meters, highest point of trekking before Lobuje peak climb, with panorama of mountains and views of Mt. Everest at close distance. After a great time descend back to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue downhill after Lobuje village and few hours walk to reach our first night in tents at Lobuje base camp for the climb.

Day 12: Climb to Lobuche High Camp 5,600m / 18,368 ft - 04 hrs.
Morning starts with a gentle climb to reach the high camp, the climb takes almost four hours to reach overnight stop, after a climb through rocky moraine path to reach High Camp with final preparation for the climbing.

Day 13: Climb the summit 6,119m / 20,070 ft and to Base Camp - 08 hrs.

The climb to the summit is steep climbing which is slightly technical; our guide will fix rope around necessary section on this strenuous ascent to reach the summit, from the top breathtaking views of fascinating mountains and valleys, at the summit top where dream becomes a reality with an overwhelming success, from top of the summit overlooking striking panorama that surrounds you with world’s highest mountains lies before you with offering unmatched views of Mt. Everest 8,848 m, Lhotse 8,501 m, Mt. Amadablam  6,856 m, Mt. Makalu 8, 463 m, Chamlang and Baruntse peaks in the far distance, after an experience of a life time descend on the same route towards base camp.

Day 14: Reserve and Contingency day in case of bad weather condition.

Reserve this day as contingency, in case of unfavorable weather conditions sometimes in this high Himalayan range, the weather can be unpredictable, so an extra day on this type of adventure is very necessary, if all goes well can be used on the way back to Lukla with short day walk enjoying the great scenery along the way.

Day 15: Trek to Pangboche 3,900 - 05 hrs.
After a daring and utmost adventure on top of Lobuje peak return journey leads on lovely scenic Pheriche valley after Thugla, walk is pleasant with views heading downhill to Pangboche for overnight stop beneath Mt. Amadablam and above Imjatse River.

Day 16: Trek to Namche Bazaar - 07 hrs. 

Morning walk begins with a descend to Imjatse River and then climb to reach at Thyangboche Monastery back into beautiful woodland and downhill to Phunge-Tenga, after crossing the bridge a steep uphill for an hour then with gentle winding walk all the way to Namche Bazaar for overnight stop in a nice and cozy hotel or lodge.

Day 17: Trek to Lukla - 05 hrs.
After a most exciting and thrilling adventure on Lobuje Peak climbing, our last day walk takes you back to Lukla on a gentle winding trail through Phakding and Ghat village and then with last climb to Lukla for lunch and overnight stop, evening with last dinner around Khumbu area with staff and guides including porters.

Day 18: Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Getting up early to catch the early flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla, (sometime the flight time can get delayed due to bad weather), as the plane reaches Lukla airstrip depart for Kathmandu taking a sweeping scenic flight in a small twin otter or Dornier plane.
On arrival in Katmandu domestic airport a short drive leads you back in the hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu, transfer back to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu in and around Thamel area.

Day 19: In Kathmandu for individual activities.
A spare and free day in case of flight delay at Lukla in due to bad weather conditions, on this free day you can join in our guided tour of interest with culture and heritage sites as Kathmandu valley is full of world heritage sites, however some of them been damaged from recent earthquakes.

Day 20: International departure for home ward bound.
Lobuje Peak Climbing completes today here in amazing Nepal Himalaya, as per the time for your international flight homeward bound or to next respective countries and port of call, transfer to airport with mesmerizing and exciting adventure with High Five Adventure and its cheerful friendly guides and staff.

  • Airport Pick up drop (Airport /Hotel/Airport) by private car/van/Bus. Hotel in Kathmandu: Two night's tourist standard Hotel in Katmandu with breakfast basis. Welcome dinner and farewell dinner in Kathmandu
