Manaslu circuit trek is one of the challenging and delightful trek that takes you to the western part of Nepal into the restricted areas. Manaslu Trek Difficulty

Manaslu trek is one of the adventurous trek with lots of off-beaten trails. This trek is quite difficult and requires intermediate skills to walk through this strenuous trek. Good physical fitness is recommended with a bit preparation and enough determination of face the extreme climates for the successful completion.

High Five Adventures offers this Manaslu circuit trek with 18 days Itinerary with arrival, sightseeing and departure days included. We start our journey with a scenic drive to Arughat Bazaar, driving along the Pokhara highway. Next day we start our trekking from Arughat bazaar following the leveled path with Budhi Gandaki River side by side. We will walk through the lush forests and different villages passing the terraces and green hills. On reaching the Soti Khola, we head towards the Lapu Besi inhabited by Mongolian peoples followed by Machha Khola. Following the up streams and zig zag paths we movie up to the hotsprings at Tatopani. We reach Namrung village passing the Deng. Namrung is a beautiful Buddhist Village full of monasteries, mani walls, chortens, prayer flags and a hydroelectricity power house. Spending an overnight at Namrung, we leave early for Sama Gaon where we will stay for a day adjusting ourselves with the cold climate and high altitude. We explore around the village and hiking up the hills. Next day we trek up to the Samdo valley following the desert paths from where we get the best view of Mt. Manaslu with other beautiful peaks. We trek towards the Larkya La pass and reach Dharapani afterwards. We descend down towards the Rhododendron through the narrow valley reaching the highest cultivated land in the valley. Trekking towards Bulbhule passing through Jaga takes 2 more days. We will drive to Kathmandu afterwards following the bank of Marshyangi and Trishuli rivers.

Details Itinerary

Day 01: arrival at Kathmandu

On your arrival High Five adventures representative will receive you. Make sure you check the name card. After that you will be Check in to the designated hotel where you can freshen up and take rest afterwards. We will have an introduction meeting with the team members and trek guide later in the evening followed by Welcome dinner. You will get to experience the typical Nepali culture and Cuisine on the very first day.

Day 02: Full day Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley

Right after breakfast we will leave for day tour around the Kathmandu valley. Today we will be visiting various ancient and beautiful architectures enlisted as World Heritage Site by UNESCO which includes. Swayambhunath, pashupatinath, Boudha and durbar squares. These places represent amazing mixture of the Hindu and Buddhist religions that we built in the medieval periods. You will be accompanied by the professional tour guide. After the tour you will be dropped to your hotel. Rest of the time is for trek preparation starting from tomorrow.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Arughat Bazaar

We leave our hotel after breakfast with a drive to Arughat Bazaar. We follow the Prithivi Highway connecting Kathmandu and Pokhara. We will have a scenic drive passing through the vibrant villages and terraced landscapes. We will be experiencing the rural landscapes and settlements during this journey. We stay for overnight at Arughat Bazaar.

Day 04: Trek from Arughat Bazaar to Soti Khola

After breakfast we head towards the Soti khola. Day 04 will have a trek over a flat leveled path along the bank of Budhi Gandhaki River with mostly terraced hills. We come across various villages and green hills mostly surrounded by lush forests. We take a lunch break at Arket Bazaar which is mid-way to Soti Khola. We can take rest and go swimming to ease our tired body. We stay for overnight at Soti Khola.

Day 05:  Trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola

We leave for Machha Khola heading towards the meandering Path that passes through the forest and colorful remote villages with clean streams. We encounter beautiful waterfalls and green dales as we reach Lapu besi. This village is inhabited by Mangolian communities. We follow a zig zag trail to reach our destination where we will be staying for overnight.

Day 06: Trek from Machha khola to Jagat

After having breakfast, we start our trek heading towards Jagat, crossing the Machha Khola towards upstream to the tiny village of Khorla Bensi reaching the hot springs at Tatopani. We come across a suspension bridge, the trail is quite adevnterous and challenging in some places. After a short section of forest path we reach Doban and above Doban, the Budi Gandaki descends with much more placid, meandering across a broad gravel bed. At Lauri, we cross the river on a suspension bridge, and then climb on a high path to the fields of Jagat where we will be staying overnight.

Day 07: Trek from Jagat to Deng

Early in the morning we start our trek with a gentle uphill ascend and then somewhere through a flat leveled path, we cross Budhi Gandaki with a suspension bridge before entering the Philim Village, Philim is a big village mainly inhabited by the Gurungs which contains some monasteries, chortens and prayer flags fluttering with the wind, along with graves. After crossing the Phim we trek over a flat leveled path mostly through the lush forest full of red and white rhododendrons and fir, we come across few bridges, followed by colorful looking brown thatched roof villages from a far distance. We can get a beautiful glimpse of a pretty cascading waterfall lying at some distance reaching the Deng, famous for its potatoes and other crops like spinach. We stay for overnight at Deng.

Day 08: Trek Deng to Namrung:

After having breakfast we leave for Namrung today. We begin our trek following almost on a flat leveled path ascending uphill leading all the way to Namrung. We pass through lush forest enjoying the mesmarizing views of Mt. Manaslu, rock hillocks, a green glen and ridges. On reaching the Buddhist village, Namrung we encounter monasteries, a water turbine hydroelectricity power house, mani walls, chortens and prayer flags below the Manaslu peak. We stay for overnight at Namrung.

Day 09: Trek Namrung to Sama gaon:

We start our early in the morning passing over a winding path which will takes us through the inner Himalayan where we can enjoy stunning views of Rupinala pass, Mt. Manaslu, Gorkha Himal, Dwijen Himal, Saula Himal, Lajing peak, and many other snow-capped mountains. As we keep ascending we can notice the air pressure decreasing. Later in the afternoon, it becomes quite windy & chilly in this area. We come across mani walls, chortens, prayer flags and monasteries before we reach Lho Gaon. We trek straight ahead to reach the Sama Gaon afterwards. We stay for Overnight at Sama gaon.

Day 10: Rest at Sama Gaon for Acclimatization:

We have already gained some high altitude so we need to spend some time to adjust our body with the environment. So today we spend whole day exploring the village and going one a short hike up to the hill which allows us to acclimate with the high altitude. We can hike to Manaslu Base Camp for excellent views of Samdo (Pang phuchuli), Nagdi chuli, Simnang Himal, Manaslu glacier. We stay for overnight at the Sama Gaon.

Day 11: Trek from Samagaon to Samdo:

Today we will have a gentle uphill ascend passing through a desert-like path and a windy valley. The Tibetan border ilike just 4Km away from the Samdo, no visitors are not allowed to pass the border. We can encounter Tibetan Refugee camp at Samdo which is an excellent view point for Mt. Manaslu, Samdo (Pang phuchuli), Nagdi chuli, Simnang Himal, Manaslu glacier, Manaslu ice fall and several other awesome peaks. We stay for overnight at Samdo.

Day 12: Trek from Samdo to Larkya La Phedi:

After breakfast we head towards Larkya La Phedi passing through the rocky and zigzags trails all the way to our destination. We come across a local market called Larkya Bazaar, before we reach Larkya La Phedi, where seasonal fairs are held for the local to bring goods from Tibet and sell it. We stay for Overnight at Larkya La Phedi.

Day 13: Trek from Larkya La Phedi to Larkya La (Pass) to Bimthang (B, L, D):

After early breakfast, we have a pretty tough trek today as we are going to pass the Larkya La. We have a steep ascended path until we reach Larkya La passing through a rocky and winding trail. We carry our own packed lunch today as we can’t find any hotel or shops in this area. We will be enjoying the views of Larkya peak, sunrise, Mt. Manaslu, Ratna chuli, Cheo Himal and many other snowcapped mountains and peaks from the top of Larkya La. After crossing this pass, we descend to a steep downhill path through rock and ice. We can encounter many icy lakes on our way reaching to Bimthang. Bimthang is a broad valley full of Mani walls and deserted houses we stay for overnight at Bimthang.

Day 14: Trek from Bimthang to Dharapani:

Early after breakfast, we start heading towards dharapani today by crossing this high pasture of Bimthang descending down the valley of the Burdin Khola. It is located towards to the area of the Base Camp for the West side of Manaslu. We have excellent views of Manaslu to the South East and Annapurna II to the South West from this ridge (4150 m). We cross a bridge over the mighty Dudh Khola descending into a rhododendron forest. Following a trail through a narrow valley, we reach the highest agricultural area called Karche (2785 m). We cross a stream to reach Tilje, famous for apple orchard and local wine which is followed by Dharapani afterwards. We stay for overnight at Dharapani.

Day 15: Trek from Dharapani to Jagat:

Right after breakfast we trek towards Jagat following the trail of the Annapurna circuit. Today we will be descending all the way down the Dudhkoshi followed by Marshyangdi and walking along its river Bank. We encounter pleasant rural villages like Taal, which is an attractive village with a pretty waterfall where we can enjoy the sight of lush green hills and mountain peaks. After a while we come across Jagat, a stone village situated on a shelf of Marshyangdi valley. We stay for overnight at Jagat

Day 16: Trek from Jagat to Bhulbhule (B, L, D):

After breakfast we begin our day 16 treak heading towards Bhulbhule. We have a pleasant trek towards the scenic landscapes with massive mountains above us. Most of our path today will be steep leading us downhill from Jagat leading us towards the Bhulbhule. Today is the last day to our tiring trek. We will be leaving for the Kathmandu tomorrow. We stay for overnight at Bhulbhule

Day 17: Drive from Bhulbhule to Kathmandu (B, L):

We leave for capital today through a bus drive. We will head towards the Kathmandu after having our breakfast. This scenic bus drive takes you through the picturesque views of the beautiful landscapes and mighty peaks of course.  We can encounter terraced farm areas and various settlements on our way. Talking 7 hours long drive we reach Kathmandu. We will checked into the hotels shortly afterwards. You can take rest and freshen up. We will have a farewell dinner later in the evening. Preparing for departure tomorrow.

Day 18: Final Departure

Today is the last day in Nepal and end of our 18 days long journey together. We will drop you at the International Airport right before 3 hours of scheduled flight after having your breakfast. We hope we get to see you again and provide you our services. See you again!!!
