Day 01: Reach at Kathmandu via airlines and transfer to respective hotels.
On reaching at Kathmandu international airport where you will be greeted with warm welcome by High Five Adventure staff and guides, and then transfer to your hotel where you will be joined with other members of Rolwaling & Tashi Labtsa Trekking, here our guide will brief with wide information regarding Rolwaling & Tashi Labtsa Trekking.
Day 02: In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Rolwaling and Tashi-Labtsa.
A free day in Kathmandu for necessary preparations where you will be busy packing and purchasing necessary required equipments for the adventure trek to Rolwaling, on last final day in Kathmandu with final briefing regarding the trek including do’s and don’ts, where our expert guide will provide much information required for the tough trek.
For interested people can join in city tour around Kathmandu at places of interest, as Kathmandu valley full of world heritage sites of impressive historical and cultural monuments.
Day 03: Drive to Gongar 1,400 m via Dolkha and Charikot - 07 hrs journeys.
Rolwaling Valley & Tashi Labtsa adventure begins with long drive on Kathmandu-Lhasa highway, where this interesting drive leads on foothills of Himalaya, through villages and towns on reaching at Charikot, our route diverts from main road heading on dirt road towards Dolkha and Rolwaling area journey continues passing farm villages and finally reaching at Gongar close to the border of Tibet, but in warm area with rice terraces and fields overnight camp near the Gogar River after an exciting long drive.
Day 04: Trek to Simigaon 2,000 m- 05 hrs.
From this small village morning walk leads past Tama Kosi, and into narrow gorge to reach at Chetchet with its cascading magnificent waterfall, from here onwards on the cool area, leaving the rice paddy and sub tropical region, the path leads to a climb into alpine area for an hour then walking on gradual level path, then with the last climb towards our overnight camp at Simigaon village, inhabited by Sherpa tribe this is a nice farm village yielding corns, potatoes, wheat’s, barley and millets, afternoon free at leisure and visit the old monastery with stunning views of the Mt. Gaurishankar and Melung Tse peak.
Day 05: Trek to Dovan 2,850 m - 05 hrs.
With a nice cool morning, starting the day walk heading North East with a climb through terraced farm fields and then into enchanting serene rhododendron, oaks, magnolia, and pine forest passing several pasture area, walk continues above the hill side and then on the downhill to the river through several cattle herders shades and huts at Gyalche, then an hour of pleasant walk to our overnight camp at Dovan, by the river that flows from the mountains high above, Dovan a small settlement in the middle of a forest with few houses.
Day 06: Trek to Beding 3,690m - 05 hrs.
Morning walk starts with a crossing of Rolwaling khola (stream) then the trail climbs up into tranquil forest, then the path winds up reaching a small place of Nyimare and Ramding farm and Sheppard’s temporary settlements, the trail continues with the climb and then finally completing the walk at Beding village for overnight camp, Beding village home of large Sherpa community and the last village of Rolwaling Valley, located in a narrow gorge valley with an old monastery situated on the top of this village, this village has a primary school supported by Hillary foundation.
Day 07: Rest day for acclimatization and short hike around.
An important and necessary to have rest day to acclimatize before heading towards our higher destinations crossing of high pass of Tashi Labtsa. Beding village offers opportunity for short hike like visiting around village and to some high hills for best views of Mt. Gaurishankar and Melung Tse (Jobo Garee).
Day 08: Trek to Na Gaon 4,180m - 04hrs.
Today’s walk leads at the end of this beautiful Rolwaling valley beneath the towering Mt. Gaurishankar 7,145 m and Melung Tse ( Jobo Garee) peaks 7,181 m, after leaving Beding village the walk leads on the gradual up hills overlooking grand views of array of snow capped peaks from Guarishnker, Melung Tse, Ramdung go 5,930 m, Chukyima go 6,259 m, Tabayabyum 5,558 m, and Yalung ri 5,630 m, as the walk progress and gorge turning into a wide glacial valley and this amazing Rolwaling valley ends with a wall of surrounding snow capped mountains, after a scenic pleasant walk reaching at Na Gaon, which is a temporary settlement of the Beding cattle herders a huge wide summer pasture, the people here grows potato, wheat’s and barley and this will be our highest spot of this awesome journey. After lunch a free afternoon to relax, catch up with the dairy or short walk around.
Day 09: Trek to Kabuk at Tsho Rolpa 4,560m - 05 hrs.
After a nice acclimatization day at Nagaon, our adventure carries on, morning walk leads to the end of Rolwaling Valley, then crossing small streams and then leading to Sangma a yak grazing pasture area, from here crossing a wooden short bridge then the path leads to a steep climb over the moraines and streams to reach near the dam of Tsho Rolpa. This lake is also called as Cho Pokhari, our camps is set on sandy level ground on the southern bank of Tsho Rolpa at Kabuk along with awesome views of Tsoboje 6,689 m and Dragker- Go 6,793 meters.
Day 10: Trek to Drolambau Glacier at Tashi Labtsa Base Camp 5,400 m - 05 hrs.
Around the area feel the mountain and its peaceful wilderness with only the sound of nature and ice cracks, morning walk continues with a climb above the moraine on northern bank of Tsho Rolpo, then leading above the glacier at the centre of a rocky glacier to our campsite on the bottom of Drolambu icefall.
After the camp is set, our expert guides will walk around the area to scout for the best approach and route over Tashi Labtsa, the path are misleading around this area, due to glacier movement and rock fall changes the trail every season.
Day 11: Cross Tashi Labtsa 5,755 m and descend to Thyangbo 4,230 - 08 hrs.
Today a tough and long day of the adventure, starting very early morning and then climb towards a glacier section leading to a spur with moderate up on upper glacier, here onward requires ropes need to be fixed with steps-ledge for trekking staffs and porters, the climb to the pass is not difficult except in snow conditions, but one has to be careful avoiding some fatal accidents loose falling rocks might occur in sections. After checking every member of the group, staff and porters climb to the top of the pass taking nearly four hours with demanding climb to reach at the top of Tashi Labtsa at 5,755 m high.
After a nice refreshing stop with view of Pachhermo peak at 6,273 m and Teng Ragi Tau at 6,940 meters, the pass festooned with Buddhist prayer flags and cairns, journey continues from the highest point towards Khumbu / Everest region with a long descend to camp at Thyangbo for overnight stop, this is a small summer pasture area for cattle and yaks herders of Thame and surrounding near villages.
Day 12: Trek to Thame 3,820 m - 05 hrs.
After a tough and long day of day 11, from here onward walk is easier on downhill trail to a nice Thame village for overnight stop in the comfort of nice cozy lodge, from here on overnight stop in lodge till Lukla, in Thame with time in the afternoon to visit Thame monastery, one of the oldest Gompa of the region.
Day 13: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 05 hrs.
After a nice morning, walk continues crossing bridges over Bhote Kosi River and then reaching several interesting villages of Thamo and into beautiful alpine forest of rhododendron and pines trees as the walk leads on gradual wide path to reach at famous Namche Bazaar, at Namche enjoy the facilities of good restaurant, pubs, cyber café, post office, and banks.
Day 14: Morning free afternoon trek to Monjo 2,860m - 03 hrs.
After a great and challenging adventure over Tashi Labtsa, morning free in Namche with time to relax and browse around Namche Bazaar markets full of shops and stores, after Rolwaling this will be a civilization with facilities of good hotels-lodge, restaurants, bakeries, cyber café, banks and post-office with many well stocked stores and shops.
Having lunch at Namche descend to Dudh Kosi river valley with easy walk to Monjo located near the entrance and exit gate of Sagarmatha National Park a nice village for overnight stops.
Day 15: Trek to Lukla - 05 hrs.
After a most exciting adventure on Rolwaling & Tashi Labtsa, our last day walk to Lukla on gentle winding trail through Phakding and Ghat village and then with last climb to Lukla for lunch and overnight stop, evening with last dinner around Khumbu area with staff and guides including porters.
Day 16: Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Getting up early to catch the early flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla, (sometime the flight time can get delayed due to bad weather), as the plane reaches Lukla airstrip depart for Kathmandu taking a sweeping scenic flight in a small twin otter or Dornier plane.
On arrival in Katmandu domestic airport a short drive leads you back in the hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu, transfer back to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu in and around Thamel area.
Day 17: In Kathmandu for individual activities.
A spare and free day in case of flight delay at Lukla in due to bad weather conditions, on this day relax and enjoy the day in Kathmandu or join in our guided tour of interest with culture and heritage sites as Kathmandu valley is full of world heritage sites, however some of them been damaged from recent earthquakes.
Day 18: International departure for home ward bound.
Rolwaling & Tashi Labtsa trekking completes today here in amazing Nepal Himalaya, as time calls for your international flight for homeward bound, transfer to airport with mesmerizing and exciting adventure with High Five Adventure and its cheerful friendly guides and staff.
