Mt. Manaslu range of peaks. Mt. Himlung stands proudly at 7,126 meters and 23, 380 ft high, around remote and isolated areas of Nepal North-West Himalaya between peaks of Damodar and Manaslu mountains, a well-hidden peak often explored and visited region beyond Nar and Phu villages and away from main trekking trail of popular Annapurna circuit route of beautiful Manang region.

Mt. Himlung located beyond North East of Nar and Phu areas, where our trek leads with overnight in lodge around main Annapurna circuit trail up to Koto near a large town of Chame on route main areas of Manang district.
After Koto on the hidden trails-gorge and windswept valley towards Phu villages the upper main village of Nar & Phu area enclosed within giant peaks of Chulus-Pisang-Damodar Himal and next to Larkya peak of Manaslu area.
Our climb is undertaken after much practice and acclimatization days at Phu and bases camp, then proceeding for the climb to the summit on the clear fine morning after setting two more camps from base camp onward within ten days to reach the summit on time as weather permits.
This is one of the most technical mountains to climb than other 7,000 meter peaks, however, with perfect team of guides and staff and with your positive attitude and determination we will lead you to the top with high success and safely back to Kathmandu after a breathtaking experience of lifetime adventure on Himlung Expedition.
Day 01: Reach Kathmandu via respective airlines and transfer to your hotels.
Day 02-03: In Kathmandu preparation for Mt. Himlung with the optional tour.
Day 04: Drive to Chamje 1,560 m via Bhesisar 823m – 08 hrs journey.
Day 05: Trek to Dharapani 1,860m – 05hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Koto 2, 600m – 05 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Meta 3,560 m – 06 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Kyang 4,100m – 06 hrs.
Day 09: Trek to Phu 4,580m 05 hrs.
Day 10: Rest day at Phu explore Samdu Choling and Tashi Monastery.
Day 11: Trek to Himlung base camp 4,540 m – 04 hours.
Day 12: Rest and acclimatization day at Himlung base camp.
Day 13-22: Climbing period for 10 days setting a maximum of 3 high camps.
Day 23: Return to base camp.
Day 24: Clean up day at Base Camp and packing.
Day 25: Trek back to Phu valley – 04 hrs.
Day 26: Trek to Kyang 3, 020 m – 05 hours.
Day 27: Trek to Dharmasala – 05 hours.
Day 28: Trek to Koto – 05 hours.
Day 29: Trek to Dharapani – 05 hours.
Day 30: Drive back to Kathmandu via Bhesisar.
Day 31: In Kathmandu free day at leisure.
Day 32: International departure for homeward bound
Day 01: Reach at Kathmandu via airlines and transfer to respective hotels.
On reaching at Kathmandu international airport where you will be greeted with warm welcome by High Five Adventure staff and guides, and then transfer to your hotel where you will be joined with other members of Mt. Himlung expedition, here our guide and group leader will information and brief with wide information regarding the trek and climb of Mt. Himlung Expedition.
Day 02-03: In Kathmandu optional tour and preparation for Mt. Himlung Expeditions.
With free days in Kathmandu for necessary preparations where you will be busy packing and purchasing necessary required equipments for the expeditions, on last final day in Kathmandu with final briefing regarding the climb including do’s and don’ts, where our expert climbing guide will provide much information and items required for the climb.
For interested people can join in city tour around Kathmandu at places of interest, as Kathmandu valley full of world heritage sites of impressive historical and cultural monuments.
Day 04: Drive to Chamje 1,560 m - 08 hrs journey.
Mt. Himlung Expedition starts with morning drive towards Nepal mid west with mountain scenery, journey leads to Bhesisar town then on the dirt road to Khudi, Bhulbhule and Ngadi following the Marysangdi River upstream, the drive continues through rice terraces fields and villages to Syange, from here with a slow climb leaving the Marysangdi River behind for few days then reaching the first overnight stop at Chamje after Jagat village, a farm village with many lodges to take care the needs of the travelers.
Day 05: Trek to Dharapani 1,920 m - 05 hours.
First day walk from Chamje follows towards raging Marysangdi River after crossing and then into alpine forest, with views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain range as the walk continues to a nice village at Tal Besi, a short break here then few hours walks to Dharapani village for overnight stop, situated on the junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu route.
Day 06: Trek to Koto 2,600m - 05 hrs.
From Dharapani onwards vegetation, landscapes changes as the air gets much cooler on reaching higher alpine country, a pleasant walk through forests to reach at Bagarchhap of Tibetan origin in culture and custom. After a lovely walk heading towards Dhanaqi and then past farm, apple orchards within pine forest with views of Lamjung and Annapurna II, the trail follows Marysangdi River upstream on passing Tiplang village to reach at Koto near Chame a big town and headquarter of Manang district .
Day 07: Trek to Meta 3,560 m - 06 hrs.
From here onwards on hidden trails leads away from mainstream trekking routes of Annapurna circuit, walk leads north into a gorge between Pisang Peak and Kangguru Himal as the trail meanders upstream of Nar-Phu khola passing small scattered farm huts and shades till Meta or Methang is reached for overnight camp.
Day 08: Trek to Kyang 4,100m - 06 hrs.
Walk continues further north towards Phu area into complete wilderness where you might see some wild-life Blue sheep, Snow Leopard and other wild-life, our nice scenic walk follows Phu khola (stream) upstream till Kyang for overnight stop after a good walk of six hours.
Day 09: Trek to Phu 4,580m - 05 hrs.
Morning walk leads to the last village of the adventure at Phu on leaving Phu khola (stream), from here into wide open area where valley opens with excellent views, walking on summer pasture to reach at Phu village for overnight stop.
Day 10: At Phu rest day and visit Samdu Choling and Tashi Monastery.
At Phu free and rest day for short hike around this well hidden Shangri-la visit the Tashilkhang and Samdu choling Monastery and Kyauchyu water fall.
Day 11: Trek to Himlung base camp 4,540 m - 04 hours.
Today a short trek to reach at Himlung base camp, morning walk leads with views of mountains and in complete wilderness of high above Manang valley and Phu areas.
A few hours of walk hike brings you at Himlung Base Camp for overnight stop and for the classic adventure climb, afternoon rest and practice climbing our expert guide will instruct and brief regarding some climbing techniques and skills required for the climb to the top summit of Himlung.
Day 12: Rest and acclimatization day at Himlung base camp.
At base camp for proper acclimatization and preparation for the climb, here our climbing guide and leader will instruct and teach you some climbing techniques and skills, sharing all the knowledge for the successful and safe climb.
Day 13-22: Climbing period for 10 days setting maximum of 3 high camps.
These 10 days where you will be engrossed and busy preparing for the hard technical climb which is truly a mountaineering expeditions experience.
During this few days ferrying loads and gears to higher camps to make the climb to the summit more effective and accessible.
On this climb where you need some days staying at advance camp till weather improves, weather around high Himalaya is the main factor for the climb.
This classic high skill climb where one has to be mentally and physically strong, the climb is technical and quite challenging than other mountains.
Camp I situated at an elevation of 6,000 m /19,685 ft and Camp II at 6,350 m /20,833 ft on the southeast ridge, and from here might need oxygen to reach the summit, after crossing two camps and spending couples of nights. Depending on weather condition for the ascent to Himlung summit, finally reaching on top of the peak spending some time enjoying marvelous view of high Himalaya range and then descend back to Advance base camp and unto base camp.
Descend is technically more difficult than climb up to the summit, however it not as much difficult like other major expeditions mountains but you might face some challenges like low level of temperature and low atmospheric pressure after being in high altitude for many days.
Day 23: Return to base camp.
Today where all members and climbing guides and staff should reach at base camp safely after a great climb to the summit of Mt. Himlung, on route descend bringing all camping gear of other high camps at base camp.
Day 24: Clean up the Base Camp.
After a great tough climb here at base camp where everyone should be in good physical conditions, this day cleaning up the garbage / litters and then packing equipments.
High Five Adventure with Government support committed in reducing pollution around mountains as well on trekking trails. We do have tremendous responsibility towards Mother Nature. So cleaning base camp which will be a great help to reduce from the impacts of global warming, complete packing your climbing gear and get prepared for return journey back to Kathmandu.
Day 25: Trek back to Phu valley.
From base camp onward downhill using the same route back to Phu valley, few hours of pleasant walk brings you at Phu for overnight stop.
Day 26: Trek to Kyang 3, 020 m - 05 hours.
Today with more descend to Phu Khola and all the way to Kyang for overnight stop, with enough time in the afternoon for short walks.
Day 27: Trek to Dharmasala - 05 hours.
The trail gently descends leading into a deep gorge, on crossing over a bridge abover Phu-khola (stream) walk along the river bank, where few hours of trek brings you at Dharmashala for last overnight stops around Nar-Phu area.
Day 28: Trek to Koto - 05 hours.
Morning on leaving Dharmasala continue walk to Koto feeling in high spirit after a successful tough climb, walk leads to warmer area as the altitude drops and back into rich green vegetations and trees and then few hours walk brings you at Koto for overnight stop.
Day 29: Trek to Dharapani - 05 hours.
Today our last walk of the adventure as the path leads downhill to Dharapani village following a nice wide trail through Timang with views of Mt. Manaslu 8,163 m /26,781ft, from Timang, walk for few hours along the forested area of rhododendron, fir, pine, oak and maple trees to reach Dharapani for last overnight stops around Manang area.
Day 30 Drive to Kathmandu via Bhesisar 830 m 06 hrs journey.
After a good and last breakfast of the trip and then drive back to Kathmandu following narrow dirt road and following Marysangdi River downstream for few hours’ passing villages and towns of Syange, Bulbule, Khude and at Bhesisar, a large town headquarter of Lamjung district, from here another hour to join Pokhara-Kathmandu highway and then with good ride to reach at Kathmandu, after a great experience in complete wilderness and mountains.
Day 31: In Kathmandu for individual activities.
A day in Kathmandu to sort out climbing equipments where our leader and guide will submit the expeditions report to concern department, on this free day you can join in our guided tour of interest with culture and heritage sites as Kathmandu valley is full of world heritage sites, however some of them been damaged from recent earthquakes.
Day 32: International departure for home ward bound.
Mt. Himlung Expeditions completes today here in Kathmandu, as per the time for your international flight homeward bound or to next respective countries and port of call, transfer to airport with mesmerizing and exciting adventure with High Five Adventure and its cheerful friendly guides and staff.
- Airport Pick up drop (Airport /Hotel/Airport) by private car/van/Bus. Hotel in Kathmandu: Two night's tourist standard Hotel in Katmandu with breakfast basis. Welcome dinner and farewell dinner in Kathmandu
- Meals During Trek: Your standard meals in mountain (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) during the trekking. Tea or coffee four times a day in cup during the trek
- Kathmandu valley sightseeing (Kathmandu Darbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, Bouddhanath Stupa and Pashipati Temple
- Accommodation In Trekking: All accommodations in lodges/tea houses during the treks.
- Trekking permit: 'Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) Permit. And Everest National park permits Toilet paper during the trek
